One of the latest mind-bending Orwellian terms to ooze forth from the rarified halls of academia is “stochasic terrorism”. It has been forced to trend in the wake of the Paul Pelosi fiasco, in a desperate attempt to stifle any thoughts that fall even vaguely outside the proscribed boundaries set for us by the ruling class. Examing the words at face value, we derive the definition “one who existential fear for polical purposes using the weapon of speculation”.
If that is the intended meaning, then we must conclude that every financial analyst and GeezerMedia puffball on the planet, among other groups, is a stocastic terrorist. Certainly, Algore, Greta Thunberg and members of the IPCC would rate high amongst the ranks of organised stochastic terrorists. We must further conclude that the US federal gummint is a major supporter of terrorism, as well.
Stochastic (/stəˈkæstɪk/, from Greek στόχος (stókhos) 'aim, guess,' refers to the property of being well described by a random probability distribution. Although stochasticity and randomness are distinct in that the former refers to a modeling approach and the latter refers to phenomena themselves, these two terms are often used synonymously. Furthermore, in probability theory, the formal concept of a stochastic process is also referred to as a random process.
The way I learned it, back when education still meant something, was that stochastic reasoning was a rational and philosophical tool for predicting outcomes based on probability. It was a tool usd in schience, back when science still meant something, to help in formulating hypotheses.
Stochastic rhetoric is a time-honoured device for debating likely outcomes of policies, programmes, and other planned efforts. In fact, it is difficult to imagine most daily conversations without invoking stochasticity.
It seems that now the authoritarians have weaponised speculation. Stochastic terrorism sounds vaguely like a $64 version of “conspiracy theorist”. When one speculates on the most probable scenario of some random headline, one is terrorising society, it would seem.
A perfect example of “stochastic terrorism” involves the predilection of the GeezerMedia and Big Tech to hide, bury, ban, and burn any information that placed the self-appointed dictators in a bad light. Speculation was rampant that the most likely scenario involved the US government being closely aligned with media outlets to firmly control what we peons could see and hear.
We recently learned that, in fact, that is exactly what has been going on. Stochastic reasoning allowed an enterprising group of folks to calculate the highest probability of finding evidence of collusion, and launch a targeted lawsuit directly at that spot. Bingo!
In pondering this topic, it occurs to me that perhaps there is such a thing as stochastic terrorism, but only if one is desperately trying to hide evidence of criminal acticity and collusion to extirpate our God-given rights. A perpetrator of such crimes might in fact be terrified of having their misdeeds exposed by stochastic methods.
In this case, then, it might behoove us to engage in as much stochastic terrorism as we can muster. We cannot allow the kind of usurpation of our rights and liberties to continue as they have for at least the past two decades, If stochasticity is indeed so fearful to the enemies of freedom, we must deploy it at every turn and opportunity. After all, our enemies have weaponised nearly every form of debate, thought and rhetoric against us. If something as simple as asking “what if” causes them this much angst, it is our sacred duty to continue using it to our fullest possible advantage.
Like a courageous soldier who catches a grenade and throws it back at the enemy, we must take full possession of the term. We must defang their rhetorical attack dog and destroy their perceived power to control the narradigm. Furthermore, we must do this for every new dog they sic on us.
Truth Warriors have done yeoman’s work stealing such terms as “Let’s Go Brandon” and “Ultra MAGA”. We now have a new T-shirt slogan proudly declaring ourselves stochastic terrorists.
And what’s truly satisfying is the knowledge that most of the enemy’s foot soldiers have no idea what stochastic means.
