Great article, and oh, so true. Yeah, my wife and I sent off our taxes (extortion payments) to the criminal gangs in D.C. and Sacramento yesterday. No Real ID required.

I don't remember asking for citizenship. I don't remember asking to be born. Life on Earth is one long involuntary contract (slavery).

I liked Gattica. I should watch it again. Gattica is the Marin County HQ designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. He wanted gold domes to match the surrounding dry grass hills. Gold paint is expensive. Marin County paints the domes blue. They have to repaint them fairly often as the paint fades in the California sun.

I remember that in third grade at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Lincoln, Nebraska, we had to read "The Man Without a Country". It's about an American who renounces the USA government and citizenship. Cliff Robertson stars in the movie.

The man with no country is locked up on various US Navy ships. He pines for news of "his" America. He is given none. The story is pure government propaganda, and I knew it in third grade.

The only way to opt out is not to reproduce and die.

And Cliff Roberts was on the Hoolywood black list for years, too. He played it and lived it.

I had forgotten about Wright's Gattaca. I love his designs and leave it to gummint to screw it up over the cost of paint. The movie is quite good and well worth a re-watch, especially if it's been a while and you've forgotten most of the details.

Interesting, isn't it? You never need ID to pay. Just swear you is who you is under penalty of perjury.

Back in the day, when I attended Our Lady of Eternal Combustion, we didn't have student cards. Now ever grade schoolers are trained from day one. In the good ol' days, you could get an ID card from the notary public for 4 bucks. Just tell her what "year" you were born, and suddenly the world of R-rated films was open to you.

You Yanks are lagging a bit. We've had the grid in place for some time. Can't buy a Scotch egg without your card. Enjoy!

Stop voting Labour, dude! Reform is the only way out. Either that or have an adult buy your eggs for you.

What is a Scotch egg? Egg in a glass of whisky?

Along with a beer, Scotch eggs constitute an entire food pyramid unto themselves. Beats haggis all to hell and gone.

Ha! Nothing so course. Only the best pub grub yet created. Take a boiled egg, wrap it in pork sausage batter it, and deep fry. Serve with mustard and a pint of bitter. Avoid open flames.

A fine article, thanks! During "covid," I noticed people brought up movies like Contagion and Outbreak. For me the ideas of Gattica were far scarier. The consequences of a world where your bloodwork is improper. A great movie!

Thank you kindly for your readership and comment. Movies are used to project scenarios and gauge reactions and well as desensitize the populace. The studios don't have to create the stories. They just need to greenlight scripts that match the desired narradigm. Regardless, "Gattaca" is a very good flick.

There you go inspiring me again. Now I've got to get out of bed and go write again. Thanks a lot.
